  My greatest accomplishment this quarter is my writing. Since we have learned so much about Shakespeare, we often wrote, analyzed, or discussed the texts; all three of which helped improve my writing. Then as well we had a reading assignment where we needed to involve different mindsets and abilities. I chose to interview people and compare their results to the characters in my book, through an informative essay. This project helped improve my comparative skills and the ability to draw conclusions. Looking back, I can tell there were some major gaps in my writing, and there still is, however compared to the beginning of the year and even the previous quarter my writing has drastically improved. My greatest accomplishment in quarter 3 is definitely my improved writing.

"LENTEN SEASON"   The Lenten season is the most appropriate time to ‘talk’ and get closer to God. I join the Christian world in celebrating the season in prayers, rituals and traditions. We strongly feel the spirit of the Lenten season in the lowlands, particularly in the Ilocos provinces, because we can hear the “passion” songs that depict the sufferings of Jesus Christ. Focus on learning, not just grades. New Year is the perfect opportunity to reflect on the past, the present and the future. I make them concise, measurable and realistic. My new year's resolutions are to focus on a healthy diet, learn rather memorise, speak up whenever I do not understand, summarise each class in three sentences, be more helpful to my classmates, join more student clubs and ignore distractions.  

  This quarter, I have learned new concepts that will be added to my knowledge, as well as fascinating events that I will participate in. And I wasn't disappointed because I learnt how to utilize HTML in the second quarter. Though I was so engaged in this quarter's lessons, they were simple for me to grasp. I may have met difficulties, but I was able to overcome them and continue. I didn't understand the first lesson at first, but I was eager to learn, so I asked my cousin what the lesson was all about, and I quickly grasped it. And basic HTML was simple for me, and I enjoy coding. Even so, because I'm prone to forgetting stuff, I had to memorize or review it.      Progressing forward, I'll keep doing what I'm doing since it's a good habit to have, and I'll try my best to maintain it. Across virtually every key measure of childhood, progress has gone backward in the 12 months since the pandemic was declared, leaving children confronting a devastating and distorted new normal. The past year has seen an increase in children who have been left hungry, isolated, abused and anxious. The education of hundreds of millions of children has been disrupted. Access to protection services and health services – including routine vaccinations – has been severely impacted. The pandemic is also affecting young people’s mental health and pushing their families into poverty. Such social and economic disruptions can increase the likelihood of child marriage.

  Christmas 2021 will be very different from all the previous years because of the ongoing pandemic. With travel restrictions and social gathering norms in place, it is likely that this year one has to spend the holiday season away from friends and extended family. The safest option still is to celebrate holidays and other special events only with members of your own household. To connect with friends and loved ones you can't see in person, host virtual events. You can chat while eating, play games, "see" each other's holiday decorations, or share recipes. Weddings, funerals, graduations, and other major milestones can be shared virtually, letting lots of people join from near and far. As more people get vaccinated, gatherings become safer. But not all children are vaccinated, and some people with weak immune systems or medical conditions might still get sick even after being vaccinated. This festival is a showcase of indigenous performances, religious rituals, as well cooking demos featuring the best of Ilocano dishes   . It is a celebration that lasts from the last week of January up to the first week of February. Included in the course of events is the commemoration of the foundation day of the province. On the opening day, there is usually a mass held at the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral. This would probably be one in contemporary history when we are encouraged to celebrate the Christmas season in its essence, in its simplicity. With a focus on the Covid virus, we are preoccupied with guidelines on how to celebrate Christmas this year– with only members of the family who are living in the same household, to continue wearing masks, observe social distancing, or to wash hands frequently.  We are being discouraged from visiting one another for our mutual protection and safety.  The usual Christmas glee and merriment that we have been accustomed to is not possible this year. While the only solution to save our planet is a global shift in priorities, even small changes make a difference. You may believe that as a single individual, you cannot have a significant impact on our environment. In truth, individual activities are the source of all important changes.      I have learned to self study what have been written in the modules and being able to manage the time that I should take for a day. I also realized that it enable us to sacrifice everything that we've been doing for the past few months of being in quarantine.   The COVID-19 pandemic has brought upon the world with challenges. Almost all countries had to shut down their economies to halt the spread of the virus and the Philippines is one of those countries who have taken strict measures by implementing the Enhanced Community Quarantine on 15 March 2020.  The lockdown did help in controlling the spread of the virus and apparently, the Philippines is already flattening the curve.
